IBANEX

Terms of Use

Last updated: 23 July 2026

These terms govern the use of the IBANEX website and mobile app, provided by Javier Marín Bernal (NIF 77759458T), Camino de Murcia 91, 2E - 30530 Cieza (Murcia), España. You can reach us at contact@ibanex.app.

1. What IBANEX is

IBANEX is an informational tool that checks the structure of an IBAN (International Bank Account Number) and, where data is available, identifies the bank that issued it along with its BIC/SWIFT code.

IBANEX does not move money, does not initiate payments, does not hold funds and is not a bank, a payment institution or any other kind of financial institution.

2. What a result means

A valid result confirms that the number is correctly formed according to the ISO 13616 standard and, where we can determine it, which bank issued it. It does NOT confirm that the account exists, that it is open, or who it belongs to.

We never claim to identify the account holder. Bank information comes from public banking registries and third-party providers and is offered for guidance only.

You remain solely responsible for your own payment decisions. Always verify with the other party through a channel you trust before sending money.

3. Purchases

Checking the structure, the country and SEPA membership of an IBAN is free. Detailed reports that identify the issuing bank are paid as one-time purchases through your app store. There are no subscriptions and nothing renews automatically.

A check is only charged when we actually identify the issuing bank. If we cannot identify it, the check is not consumed and your balance stays as it was.

Purchases are processed by Apple. Refunds are handled by Apple under the terms of the App Store; we cannot issue them directly.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to use IBANEX to build databases of bank data, to automate mass queries, to circumvent technical limits, or for any purpose that is unlawful in your country.

We may restrict access to anyone making abusive use of the service.

5. Availability

The service is provided on an ongoing basis but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. Bank identification depends on third-party data sources that may be temporarily unavailable.

We may modify or discontinue features. If a change materially affects paid credits already purchased, we will honour them.

6. Liability

IBANEX is provided "as is". To the extent permitted by law, Javier Marín Bernal is not liable for losses arising from payment decisions taken on the basis of the information provided.

Nothing in these terms limits rights you may have as a consumer under mandatory law.

7. Governing law

These terms are governed by Spanish law. If you are a consumer resident in the European Union, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of your country of residence and may bring proceedings before your local courts.

The European Commission's online dispute resolution platform is available at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
